Graduate Assistantships
Baldwin Wallace University offers incoming graduate students the opportunity to build new skills, gain practical experience, network with faculty and staff, and impact the BW community by pursuing a graduate assistantship while completing their degree.
Our various graduate assistantship opportunities typically require a minimum of 10 hours of work per week and provide a 25% tuition discount for up to one academic year (fall and spring semesters).
Eligibility Requirements
GA positions are open to BW graduate students in the following programs:
- License + Masters: Education
- Master of Accountancy (MAcc)
- Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC)
- Master of Arts in Education: Leadership in Higher Education (LHE) *
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
Students must be enrolled full-time (six hours or more) and available to work a minimum of 10 hours each week. Candidates interested in BW's assistantship positions should have excellent interpersonal communications skills, the ability to work in a team or independently, and have exceptional time-management capabilities.
* Candidates for the LHE program must first secure a full-time LHE graduate internship position before being eligible for a GA position. View details on the LHE program and graduate internship positions.
Graduate Assistantship Opportunities
At this time, all of the GA positions have been filled for the 2024-25 academic year.

Application Instructions
Candidates must be accepted into one of the degree-seeking programs stated above at BW to be considered for an open graduate assistantship. Once admitted, candidates in the above programs can visit their applicant portals to fill out the graduate assistantship application form.
On the graduate assistantship application form, please indicate your top three department preferences. Due to the competitive nature of the application process, we encourage candidates to fill out all three preference options for increased opportunity of securing a position. Interviews or other supplemental items may be required for certain GAs upon submission of the graduate assistantship application form.
Priority review of applications will begin in March 2024. All candidates will be notified of graduate assistantship selections before their respective program starts.
Selection Process
All decisions for graduate assistantship positions will be made by the GA selection committee. Candidates selected for an open GA position will be notified by the dean of graduate studies and research. To ultimately secure the GA position, a candidate must enroll in their program for fall 2024.
